Saxe, a CBD restaurant and bar by renowned chef Joe Grbac, offers a dual dining experience: an elegant à la carte and tasting menu upstairs, and a relaxed, casual bar and dining space downstairs, known as Saxe Kitchen.
I was asked to create a logo that reflects its relaxed, informal vibe — a place for quick coffees or long catch-ups.I created a custom handwritten wordmark for “kitchen” that playfully contrasts the bold type, adding warmth, personality, and a sense of approachability. The identity reflects the dynamic duality of the venue — bold yet inviting, refined yet relaxed.
